No format shake-up after title decider

Formula 1 will not trial different race weekend formats once the title has been decided, says F1 sporting boss Ross Brawn. The sport's owners, Liberty Media, are debating revising the race weekend's format for the 2019 season. The bosses want to introduce a four-part qualifying session with four dropping out of Q1, Q2 and Q3 and eight going through to fight for pole position. This led to some suggestions that Liberty would be open to trialing different formats once either Lewis Hamilton or Sebastian Vettel wrap up the title. Brawn, however, says that is not on the cards.
