Hamilton: "We are the best team"

Lewis Hamilton has taken another huge step towards the f1 world title this morning as he took a dominant pole position at the Japanese Grand Prix, with his Ferrari rival Sebastian Vettel down in ninth after a mix up. For much of the season it has been Ferrari that have had the fastest car, although they have been unable to take advantage of this pace benefit. There have been mistakes on behalf of both driver and the team, such as the time Vettel crashed out of the lead at the German Grand Prix when under no pressure at all, and then today in qualifying when Ferrari sent Vettel out in Q3 on intermediate tyres, only for Hamilton to come out on slicks and set a much faster time.
