Sauber fined for unsafe Marcus Ericsson release in FP2

Sauber has been handed a €5,000 fine after Marcus Ericsson’s C37 was released in an unsafe condition during a practice stop at the Hungarian Grand Prix. Ericsson was released from Sauber’s pit box during the second session but was immediately instructed to halt his car, doing so at the end of the pit lane. Sauber’s mechanics wheeled his car back to the garage and he shortly returned to the circuit to complete the remainder of the session. The stewards at the Hungaroring duly confirmed that Ericsson’s car was released in an unsafe condition but accepted that Sauber “reacted instantly” to the situation.
