New McLaren boss hopes fans enjoyed Silverstone showing
New McLaren sporting director Gil de Ferran highlighted how pleased he was that the team left the British Grand Prix with points. Fernando Alonso finished in eighth position after a last lap move on Haas' Kevin Magnussen, earning the team vital points in the constructor standings. The drive from the veteran prompted his new boss to praise the performance of his driver and the team as a whole, coming off of the back of a tough stint of the season, the first ever triple-header. “It’s good to head home after the British Grand Prix with more points," he said. “We decided to go for an aggressive strategy on both cars to put the drivers in the best position to fight....
