New Formula 1 tracks must encourage great racing - Chase Carey

Formula 1 chief Chase Carey has said any new addition to the Formula 1 calendar must encourage overtaking and great racing and that this will be a key point in any new venue securing its place on the roster. Speaking during the FIA's annual Sport Conference, this year held in Manila, Carey said Liberty Media was aware that some current circuits needed some modifications to encourage exciting races and going forward this would be a part of negotiations in securing a place on the calendar. 'First, we want to make sure it’s great for a race,' he said Monday. 'We’ll build all the things all around it [but] it starts with having a track that can provide a great race....
