Resta leaves Ferrari to join Sauber as technical director

Ferrari chief designer and head of vehicle project coordination Simone Resta has left the Formula 1 team ahead of a move to Sauber, where he will take up the role of technical director from July 1. Resta has worked with Ferrari since 2001 in the role of chief designer, but has now left Maranello ahead of a move to Sauber, which enjoys close ties to the Ferrari team via its title sponsorship from sister brand Alfa Romeo. Ferrari confirmed Resta's departure in a statement issued on Monday following the Monaco Grand Prix, with Sauber confirming soon after that he would be joining the team on July 1 as technical director, reporting to team principal Frederic Vasseur. 5774263478001...
