Ferrari’s revised halo-mounted mirrors have broken cover for use at this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix, following an FIA-issued directive. Teams were informed at the Chinese Grand Prix that rear-view mirrors could be mounted on the head protection device, which came into mandated use for 2018. Ferrari introduced a revised structure in Spain, in which the mirrors were mounted on the halo, along with a curved winglet – and it was that extra winglet that received attention from the FIA, with devices added for aerodynamic purposes not permitted.
