Tyre Update: Teams put faith in hypersoft ahead of Monaco debut
The hypersoft tyre makes its first appearance in Formula One next weekend at the Monaco Grand Prix and the teams have stacked up on it as Pirelli have confirmed their choices. Red Bull, Renault and Williams have selected the maximum 11 hypersoft tyres, with only one of each the supersoft and ultrasoft tyres. On the other hand, Mercedes, Haas and McLaren have only taken nine sets of the new tyre and will therefore have more flexibility come the weekend. The rest have ten sets of hypersofts. It will be interesting to see how the tyre does during the race as it has never been used in competitive racing before and the teams have put a lot of faith in them as a race tyre.
