Vasseur sees Leclerc's result in Baku as big confidence booster

Sauber boss Fred Vasseur believes Charles Leclerc's amazing performance in last Sunday's Azerbaijan Grand Prix will likely deliver big boost to the rookie's confidence. The 20-year-old Monegasque enjoyed a flawless run on Baku's treacherous street circuit, racing among the big boys and holding his own between a Red Bull and a Ferrari in the first half of the race. Vasseur, a big fan of the 2017 Formula 2 champion, was perhaps the only one who wasn't surprised by his driver's outstanding result last Sunday. Battling childhood hero in Baku felt 'crazy' for Leclerc "On Saturday he excelled in qualifying and felt confident about the race," the French team manager told Auto-Hebdo....
