Leclerc stars with Sauber’s best F1 result since Russia 2015

Charles Leclerc secured his maiden Formula 1 points finish with an eye-catching sixth place at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix to give Alfa Romeo Sauber its best result since the 2015 Russian Grand Prix. The F1 rookie enjoyed a trouble-free race in a frantic round in Baku to carve his way up the order before defending from two-time world champion Fernando Alonso over the final few laps having earlier overtaken the McLaren driver with a smart move at Turn 1.
