Renault prepare for life without Sainz

Renault will not wait for Daniel Ricciardo to decide his Formula 1 future before starting the search for a potential replacement for Spanish driver Carlos Sainz, which would leave the French team with a void to fill. The French manufacturer team currently have Sainz on loan from Red Bull, who can take back the 23-year-old at the end of the season should their race-winning Australian Ricciardo decide to go elsewhere. 'We need to make plans, we need to be prepared for the worst as always,' Renault Sport F1 managing director Cyril Abiteboul told Reuters at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
