Vettel: Mercedes and Red Bull race simulations misleading

Amid worries in Italy that the new Ferrari SF71-H may not quite have the race pace of Red Bull and Mercedes, Sebastian Vettel has played down these concerns by claiming that their main rivals are incorrect in how they tested race pace in Barcelona earlier this month. In a Q&A released by Ferrari, Vettel explained, 'Our competitors – Mercedes and Red Bull – used one type of tyre for their race distance simulations, which is something you can’t do in a Grand Prix. This has an impact on the strategies and ultimately on the result.'
