Aitken handed Renault F1 reserve driver role

Renault has promoted British driver Jack Aitken to the role of third and reserve driver for the 2018 Formula 1 season. Aitken, who is the most senior member of the Renault Sport Academy, takes over the role previously filled by new Williams recruit Sergey Sirotkin. He finished as runner-up to ART Grand Prix teammate and Mercedes junior George Russell during his sophomore GP3 campaign last season. The British pair will be reunited at the same team’s Formula 2 squad in 2018.
