Norris future at McLaren likely dependent on Alonso

Lando Norris says his future with McLaren twelve months from now will likely depend on Fernando Alonso's own fate with the Woking-based outfit. The highly-rated 18-year-old steps up to a reserve role with the team this season, ready to step up to the big time in the event that either Alonso or Stoffel Vandoorne become unavailable. Should the Spaniard decide to continue with McLaren beyond 2018, Norris is prepared to look for opportunities elsewhere. "I guess you have to wait for what Fernando wants to do, and I think they are happy with Stoffel, and it is quite early in his career," said Norris.
