Alonso to Use Daytona to Evaluate Le Mans Possibilities

Fernando Alonso says he is using this month’s Rolex 24 at Daytona to see whether he enjoys endurance racing enough to join the field for the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June. The two-time Formula 1 World Champion is experiencing the Daytona International Speedway for the first time this week in the ROAR before the 24 with United Autosports, and he admits he could race at Le Mans, particularly after testing with Toyota Gazoo Racing’s LMP1 machinery in Bahrain last November. “Doing this race is some kind of first step in endurance championship [driving], how these races are and how much I enjoy these races,” said Alonso on Motorsport.com. “Hopefully, it’s a positive answer.  “After...
