STR confirms Pierre Gasly and Brendon Hartley for 2018

Toro Rosso has confirmed that Pierre Gasly and Brendon Hartley will continue to race for the team in Formula 1 in 2018. Gasly, a long-term member of Red Bull’s junior scheme, made his Formula 1 debut in Malaysia, in place of Daniil Kvyat, and made further outings in Japan, Mexico and Brazil. Hartley, meanwhile, was part of Red Bull’s programme in the late 2000s, but was dropped, and switched to sportscars, claiming the 2015 WEC title, before adding another championship this year, and was drafted in to replace Renault-bound Carlos Sainz Jr. in the United States.
