Russell says he's "ready to race" in F1 in 2018
Mercedes protege George Russell believes that he's ready to race in Formula 1 in 2018 – and he wants to be the first name on the list if a team needs a replacement driver. Russell made his first on-track F1 appearance on a grand prix weekend for Force India in Brazil, finishing FP1 in 12th place overall, some 0.6s off teammate Esteban Ocon. He will also drive on Friday in Abu Dhabi. Having tested for Mercedes earlier this year, the GP3 champion says he's ready to make the step up, should an opportunity arise.
