Renault working hard on 'magic' qualifying mode for 2018

Teams running Renault power in 2018 will hopefully get a boost in qualifying as the manufacturer works on delivering a special engine mode which its rivals already have. Renault's progress on the engine front has put its power unit almost at the same level as Mercedes and Ferrari, at least on race day. In qualifying trim however, their ability to release extra power at will puts both teams out of reach of Renault which cannot resort to such a scheme.
