Massa forced to change chassis after FP1 crash

Felipe Massa is unlikely to run in second practice for the Belgian GP after a heavy accident in the morning session forced the Williams team to change his chassis for the remainder of the weekend. The Brazilian went off at Turn 7 after running over the kerbs on the inside and losing control, before striking the tyre wall with the left hand side of the car. After the team inspected the damage, it was quickly decided that the spare chassis will have to be built up, leaving the mechanics in a race against the clock.
