Ricciardo next to get five-place grid drop

The penalties are continuing to be racked up ahead of the British Grand Prix, with Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo the latest victim of a gearbox change. Fernando Alonso has a 30-place grid drop for taking on even more new engine components, and it also emerged on Friday evening that Valtteri Bottas would also be dropping five places after an unscheduled gearbox change. Now Ricciardo has the same fate, with Red Bull notifying FIA Technical Delegate Jo Bauer of the change following FP2 at Silverstone. The Aussie, who has scored five consecutive podiums, has failed to last the required six events before a gearbox can be changed without the risk of a penalty.
