Fernando Alonso 'extremely happy' with 'maximum performance'

Fernando Alonso has declared himself 'extremely happy' with his performance during qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix, despite a straight-line speed deficit costing him valuable time. Alonso will start 12th on Sunday after missing out on a Q3 spot by just two-tenths – a gap he doesn't believe he could have made up, even though he caught a slow Daniil Kvyat on his final run. 'No, not really, the lap was good, lap was clean, did the maximum, happy with the performance at the end,' explained the Spaniard when asked if Kvyat, who had a puncture after htting the wall, held him up.
