Ecclestone fires back at Carey's accusation

Ex-Formula 1 owner Bernie Ecclestone has dismissed Chase Carey's claim that he stopped Formula 1 from growing into a bigger sport. Carey recently revealed his frustration with how far behind Formula 1 has fallen compared to other global sports and said it was largely in part of Ecclestone saying 'no' to proposals on a regular basis. But Ecclestone has insisted that he only rejected new ways of developing sport for two perfectly logical reasons. 'The only reason I ever said no to anything is if I thought it wasn't a very good thing to do or didn't produce any income,' Ecclestone told The Sun newspaper.
