Montreal makes safety changes to accommodate faster 2017 cars

The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve has confirmed it will make a host of safety changes to accommodate the new faster 2017 cars for this year's Canadian Grand Prix in June. Whilst almost all the circuits on the calendar have been told to make some minor modifications, the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve has been singled out as one of the most heavily revised due to its high-speed nature and the proximity of the walls and barriers. More than 5,000 tyres will be replaced with TechPro barriers around the circuit, most notably at Turns 1 and 2, as well as the hairpin.
