Hamilton claims pole, Vettel pips Bottas

ewis Hamilton stormed to a record sixth Chinese Grand Prix pole position during Saturday's qualifying session at the Shanghai circuit, as Sebastian Vettel pipped Valtteri Bottas to a place on the front row.Ferrari, having finished one-two in final practice, again looked rapid through qualifying, with Kimi Räikkönen clocking a new circuit record in Q2.However, in the decisive Q3 phase, Hamilton and Mercedes stepped forward, initially breaking into the 1m31s, despite a slide through Turn 11, before getting down to 1:31.678.Vettel snatched another front row start, beating Bottas by one thousandth of a second, the pair just under two-tenths down on Hamilton's time.Kimi Räikkönen fell away...
