Disrupted start to Chinese GP

The Chinese GP weekend has begun in disrupted fashion after heavy cloud prevented F1's medical helicopter from operating safely and curtailed track running to just 20 minutes in Practice One. On a dank morning at the Shanghai International Circuit, the opening practice session was twice red flagged with low cloud cover playing havoc with F1's usual safety procedures. Helicopters were first unable to land at the local hospital and then the nearest airport was closed. In the brief track running that did take place, Max Verstappen set the pace on intermediate tyres for Red Bull ahead of Williams pair Felipe Massa and Lance Stroll.
