Sainz Jr. hails 'confidence boost' for STR
– Carlos Sainz Jr. says Toro Rosso's performance at the Australian Grand Prix has acted as "confidence boost" for the team following a mixed pre-season period.Toro Rosso ended the recent fortnight of testing in Barcelona happy with its pace, but concerned about reliability, amid several stoppages.However, the STR12 ran both reliably and quickly throughout the weekend's action at Albert Park, enough to reach Q3 and score points with both cars.Sainz Jr. was the first of the Toro Rosso drivers to cross the line in eighth position, losing seventh to Force India's Sergio Pérez on the run to Turn 3 shortly after pitting."To finish P8 is a decent result I'm happy with,"...
