Liberty's Maffei ridicules F1's footprint in the US

©WRI2 Liberty Media CEO Greg Maffei has labeled as 'popcorn fart' Formula 1's current footprint in the US, but is intent on developing the country's audience. Speaking at a Morgan Stanley technology and media conference last week in San Francisco, Maffei  underlined the sport's weakness in America due to a lack of development in the past. "The US is, you know, it’s a popcorn fart, it’s nothing," Maffei said. "The opportunity is good, certainly in percentage terms, not in absolute Dollar terms. It is very low.
