Vandoorne: McLaren needs smooth day
– Stoffel Vandoorne has admitted that McLaren-Honda "need a day with a lot of laps" after another troubled start to pre-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.Fernando Alonso completed only 29 laps on the first day of testing at the Spanish Grand Prix venue, having hit an oil systems problem, and taken on a new power unit.On the second day, when Stoffel Vandoorne stepped into the MCL32, another power unit swap was required following a handful of early runs, restricting him to 40 laps.It means McLaren-Honda has yet to hit a race distance with its new challenger, while Mercedes, splitting sessions between its two drivers, has covered almost five.Speaking at the...
