Pirelli to bring backup tyres to F1 testing

– Pirelli's backup tyres will be available for teams and drivers during pre-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, as the sport prepares to welcome in wider rubber.Pirelli has this year introduced tyres 25 per cent wider front and rear compared to their predecessors, with the bulk of the field set to get to grips with the new arrangements next week.Pirelli announced in December that because its 2017 tyres feature "entirely new materials and a completely fresh design philosophy", it had added a homologated back-up compound for each step of its range.The backup compounds "are formulated using more traditional criteria compared to the new base...
