Renault declares new F1 engine is “95% different” to 2016 unit
Renault’s 2017 Formula 1 power unit is 95% different from its 2016 powerplant after it reached the end of the development curve of the previous concept, says engine chief Remi Taffin. The French manufacturer made a step forward with its engine last year, with chief technical officer Bob Bell saying it was “there or thereabouts” with Ferrari in terms of performance.
