Vettel crashes out of Pirelli wet tyre test
Sebastian Vettel brought the opening day of Pirelli's two-day wet tyre test to a premature end when he suffered what Pirelli dubbed a 'normal' wet weather crash. The Ferrari driver was in action at Fiorano on Thursday, putting Pirelli's wider-for-2017 tyres through their paces. His day's running ended after just 40 laps when he lost control on the artificially wet track and crashed into the barriers approaching the fast left-hander. Vettel was unhurt in the crash. 'It was a normal accident on an artificially wet track,' said a Pirelli spokesperson.
