BRDC dismisses reports of Silverstone dropping British GP

©WRI2 Reports earlier this week suggested that the BRDC had decided to back out of its contract to host the British GP at Silverstone after 2019. The venue's owners have discounted the rumors and labeled them as "speculative and wrong", adding that the decision to exercise or not a clause in their contract with FOM to cease hosting the race shall be rendered sometime over the next six months. "Our objective is to preserve the British Grand Prix at Silverstone for many years to come but, of course, we can only do this if it makes economic sense," said BRDC Chairman John Grant.
