Fernando Alonso insists he's committed to being champion with McLaren
Fernando Alonso has reasserted his committment to the McLaren-Honda project amid discussions about his future and whether he could replace Nico Rosberg at Mercedes next season. The Spaniard has been the subject of much speculation after Mercedes chief Toto Wolff said Alonso couldn't be overlooked as they search for a replacement driver to partner Lewis Hamilton in 2017. However he later added that he doesn't want to get involved in a contractual fight with rival teams, particularly as Alonso is believed to have a water-tight deal with McLaren for next year.
