Alonso says McLaren title 'my only goal'
– Fernando Alonso has insisted that his "only goal" is to claim the World Championship with McLaren-Honda, following speculation linking him to the vacancy at Mercedes.Nico Rosberg's shock retirement has freed up a seat alongside Lewis Hamilton for the 2017 season and Alonso, among other names, was immediately mooted as a candidate.Mercedes boss Toto Wolff admitted that the manufacturer "had to consider" the two-time World Champion, but at the same time said he was wary about his existing contract.Alonso is set to enter the final year of a three-season deal in 2017, with new McLaren-Honda chief Zak Brown stating that he was "not worried" about losing his...
