Lauda says promoting Wehrlein would be a 'risk'

Niki Lauda believes it would be a 'risk' for Mercedes to promote junior driver Pascal Wehrlein to partner Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes in 2017 following the shock departure of Nico Rosberg.  As just over three months remain until the next Formula One season, Mercedes have to quickly find themselves a replacement driver, with Nico Rosberg ending his F1 career at Friday's FIA Prize Giving event in Vienna. The prime candidate is Pascal Wehrlein, who is a Mercedes reserve driver, and has been testing for the team since 2014, however other big names are also in frame to replace Rosberg in Mercedes, such as Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel, Valtteri Bottas and Nico Hulkenberg.
