20 race 2017 calendar confirmed

The FIA have confirmed a 20-race 2017 Formula 1 calendar following a meeting of the World Motorsport Council in Vienna. The German GP drops off the schedule for next season with the Nurburgring's financial problems meaning they couldn't host the event and Hockenheim unwilling to stage the race two years in a row also because of monetary reasons. The race in Azerbaijan moves from its provisional date to avoid a clash with the Le Mans 24 hour race and appears to have dropped the European GP title, with the Baku street race now likely to be called the Azerbaijan GP. That also means the Austrian and British GPs move back a week from their provisional dates with the race at Silverstone...
