Team bosses agree to standing starts after all Safety Cars

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix – Formula One team bosses have agreed to having standing starts after all Safety Car events in 2017. The idea was previously mooted for the 2015 season, but the idea was rejected after careful consideration of such a regulation, the intention of which is the make Formula One more entertaining. When the idea was last proposed, it was seen as an artificial way of making things more exciting, with the potential for a driver with a large lead to massively lose out. Also thought of was the effect of marbles off-line for the restarts, with some drivers being forced to start on the dirty side of the track, especially if a Safety Car were to be brought out late in the race....
