Sainz matches best F1 result with sixth in Brazil

Brazilian Grand Prix – Carlos Sainz Jr. matched his best Formula One result with an impressive sixth place finish at Interlagos. The Spaniard was running as high as fourth having stayed out on the full wet tyre whilst others pitted for intermediates. He also inherited a position from Nico Hulkenberg’s puncture during a Safety Car. He was passed by a charging Max Verstappen and recovering Sebastian Vettel in the latter stages of the race, before holding off Hulkenberg and Daniel Ricciardo in the final few laps. “To finish P6 after qualifying P15 yesterday is just amazing,” Sainz said, “I thought it was too risky to put the intermediates on and I asked the team to leave me out on...
