Audi technical director to join Sauber

Audi technical director Jorg Zander is to join Sauber next year. The German, who has enjoyed stints with Toyota, BAR, Williams, Honda, Brawn and even Sauber in a previous incarnation (BMW Sauber), as its chief engineer, left F1 in 2009 to form his own engineering company. Following an abortive attempt to return to F1 with HRT, he joined Audi Sport last year as its technical director. With Audi now leaving WEC at the end of the year, Zander is heading to Hinwil to fill the position vacated by Mark Smith on the eve of the current season.
