Arrivabene: Vettel penalty “harsh” and “unfair”
Mexican Grand Prix – Ferrari Team Principal Maurizio Arrivabene has labelled Sebastian Vettel’s post-race penalty “harsh” and “unfair”. The German was handed a ten-second time penalty for making a dangerous move under braking whilst defending from a chasing Daniel Ricciardo is the closing stages of the Mexico race. The penalty dropped him from third to behind both Red Bull drivers in fifth. Vettel also received two penalty points. “Today could have felt special: we fully deserved this podium, which was taken away by bureaucracy,” Arrivabene said. “The whole team had showed great stamina by staying united and focused in a difficult moment.
