– Lewis Hamilton became only the third driver in history to reach 50 Formula 1 victories after triumphing in the United States Grand Prix. Hamilton claimed his maiden victory during an attrition-filled Canadian Grand Prix and backed it up a week later by prevailing in an intra-team fight against Alonso.
