F1 teams agree to in-season Bahrain test plan for 2017

Formula 1 teams have agreed to abandon efforts to host a pre-season test in Bahrain next year and will instead run at the Sakhir track in the week after the grand prix. Following weeks of discussions about where next year's pre-season testing should take place – as teams were divided on whether to stick to Barcelona or run in Bahrain – F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone summoned team principals together on Friday lunchtime in Austin.
