Palmer reckons best grid slot was possible
– Jolyon Palmer reckons he could have achieved his best grid slot in Formula 1 had Carlos Sainz Jr. not spun during the closing stages of Q2 in Japan.Palmer progressed through to the second knockout segment of qualifying for Renault and occupied 16th position when his Toro Rosso rival spun through Spoon, bringing out the yellow flags.Palmer had to back off and while he improved his time, he remained down in 16th spot, as the slowest of the Q2 runners."On the one hand I'm quite pleased," said Palmer.
