Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen reprimanded for qualifying infringements

Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen have been handed reprimands for failing to return to the pits in suitable time during qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix. The Williams and Renault driver both took longer than the maximum permitted time of 1 minute 57 seconds between the pit exit and pit entry set out by the FIA prior to the event. Both infringements came at the end of the session, Q2 for Massa and Q1 for Magnussen. As neither impeded a rival car, the stewards deemed reprimands a suitable punishment. Neither driver had a reprimand on their record prior to this. Massa lines up 12th for Sunday's race, six places ahead of Magnussen in P18.
