Ricciardo frustrated by qualifiyng issue: "We're giving up free time"
Red Bull Racing's Daniel Ricciardo admitted to frustration after qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix, saying his car was "giiving away free laptime" on the straights. Ricciardo qualified sixth, six hundredths behind teammate Max Verstappen, and said after the session that he had done as well as he could have. "To be honest, I did what I could," Ricciardo told Sky Sports. "We had a few issues in qualifying, it's a bit frustrating. Frustrating to see how close it is, but, yeah, I was trying.
