Rosberg on top in damp final practice
Nico Rosberg completed a hat-trick after ending the final practice for the Japanese Grand Prix fastest after edging out Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo. Rosberg's fastest time was a 1.32.092, and was 0.3s clear of Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo. Meanwhile, 0.6s further back was Sebastian Vettel who failed to hook up a representative time thanks to traffic in the final sector, and the same was for Verstappen. Hamilton, who was within a tenth of Rosberg during the medium-tyre runs failed to set a lap on the soft-compound tyres and as a result finished final practice in seventh position for Mercedes.
