Alonso takes another penalty in Malaysia
Fernando Alonso is to take an extra 15-place grid penalty for the Malaysian Grand Prix as the result of extra powerunit components fitted to his car on Saturday morning. The Spaniard was already heading in to the weekend facing a 30-place grid drop for new engine parts, as Honda evaluated lighter components aimed at boosting performance. With data from the running of that new powerunit now being analysed following an encouraging test on Friday, Alonso has reverted for the rest of the weekend to his fifth powerunit that was originally fitted in Belgium.
