Rosberg comfortably tops FP1 at Sepang

– Nico Rosberg comfortably topped the timesheets during Friday morning's opening free practice session for the Malaysian Grand Prix, ahead of Mercedes team-mate and championship rival Lewis Hamilton.Rosberg worked his way down to a time of 1:35.227 on the Soft compound tyre, ending the session around half a second clear of Hamilton.Hamilton, however, made a mistake on his early Soft-tyre run, meaning his best lap time ultimately came on the slower Medium compound.Hamilton locked up heavily under braking for the Turn 9 hairpin, forcing him back to the pits, before Rosberg moved half a second clear.Both drivers switched to the Medium rubber for the remainder of the session, to carry...
