Perez handed eight-place grid penalty

Sergio Perez has been handed a combined eight-place grid penalty for two incidents involving yellow flag infringements during the qualifiers for Sunday's Singapore Grand Prix. Perez raised eyebrows after he set his fastest time during Q2. He was first handed a five-place penalty for speeding under double yellow flags for Romain Grosjean, and then another three-places for overtaking Sauber driver Esteban Gutierrez while the flags were still being waved. The Mexican, who advanced into Q3, was convinced that Force India had enough data to show that he lifted at the correct moments, but the FIA saw otherwise.
