Hamilton claims pole at Monza

Italian Grand Prix – Lewis Hamilton took pole position at Monza by four tenths of a second with a time of 1:21.135. Sebastian Vettel was third. In Q1, Esteban Ocon was unable to put in a lap time before he had to pull his Manor over to the side of the track at the first chicane with an electrical problem, the same issue that caused him to stop on track on Friday. The yellow flags were brought out but luckily they did not interfere with the laps of the main pole positions contenders. Hamilton had an advantage of six tenths of a second over team mate Rosberg by the end of Q1. A close fight to not make an early exit from qualifying was expected after the qualifying simulations in FP3....
